Visual Representations of Invasive Species Impacts

This map charts the various invasive species control methods currently utilized on Sea Lamprey in Lake Champlain, and where each method is practiced.

 The graph above represents the total number of new species introduced to Lake Champlain by decades. There is a high number of introduced species most recently, in the 2000s, but the number is a drastic reduction from the peak in the 1990s.

 The annual budget allocation dedicated to controlling water chestnut populations in Lake Champlain given to the Watershed Management Division by the VT Dept. of Environmental Conservation is shown above.

The graph above shows the rate of sea lamprey wounds on the native fish species, Lake Trout and Atlantic Salmon, in terms of woulds per 100 fish. Overall, it seems as though the peak of sea lamprey attacks occurred during 2003 till 2006, with lowest rates in 2010 for salmon and 2011 for lake trout.
